It’s been a very long 13 years with a lot of heartbreak along the way, but I can proudly say once again that the Baltimore Ravens are headed down to THE BIG SHOW! February 3rd, my guys will be playing the San Francisco 49ers in an epic Harbowl in New Orleans! AKA “The Bro-Bowl”.*
*In case you don’t know what that is, the coaches of the Ravens and the Niners are brothers, John and Jim respectively. And John just can’t let his little brother beat him, right??
To say that I am beside myself is the understatement of the century. Watching the Ravens beat the New England Patriots last night in the AFC Championship was such an unbelievable feeling. We were 9.5 point underdogs, just like we were against the Denver Broncos the previous week. And just like the previous week, we played our hearts out and were not only victorious, but successfully made Tom Brady look like a little bitch for the entire second half of the game. We got our revenge for the spoiled AFC Championship last year and Ray Lewis will finish his final ride in the grandest fashion possible with hopefully a brand new ring to show for it.
I feel like I’m dreaming.
I’m pretty much running on pure adrenaline this morning. After we won, I obviously needed to watch post-game and fan reactions for a number of hours and then suddenly it was 1am. Sleep was near impossible. Then my alarm went off at 6:30, and I all but exploded out of bed. I’m telling you, an AFC Championship Win is better than a venti latte with 2 extra shots. I wish I could feel like this every day!
So for the next two weeks, I will be soaking up all the fun, festivities, and purple-ness that Charm City has to offer. In fact, I think it might be time to bust out the Manic Panic for the first time since middle school so stay tuned for that potential fiasco.
The Ravens are going to the Superbowl! SO INCREDIBLE!!!
For the first time in my entire life I’m working during the Super Bowl, to say that I am perturbed would be an understatement. I was at work last night when the game ended and my NFL app chimed in with an update and I let out WHOOP for joy when I saw you guys were headed to the big dance. I don’t normally have any allegiance or prejudice with the Ravens but the Ray Lewis story has me interested and I’d like to see him take home ring.

I felt the SAME way after the BCS Championship!!! I was like why is this on a week night? Why can’t it be Saturday I need Sunday to sleep after being up late watching EVERYONE talk to reporters!!!!

We totally almost hit some random drunk people setting off fireworks after we left the house to buy our AFC championship tshirts right after the game, haha. We were ~40 min NORTH of the city, so I imagine Baltimore was insane.
My dad’s a huge niners fan, so I might have to bug the boyfriend and be a niners fan. Or a ravens fan and be nice? It’s debatable. I’m going to pick whichever team is winning – frontrunner I am!
